My Girl is an internal med doctor and she HATES her JOB and she make Great Money... I LOVE My Job because its more like a Hobby and tho I dont make a ton of Money I am HAPPY and My QOL is Great... and Ellen Before you make crass remarks I spent well over 8 yrs serving our country in the Air Force turning wrenches.. and I Made More as an A & P than I am as a pilot right now .. but the fact is I am HAPPY doing my JOB and could not imagine doing anything else right now........one more thing its Nice to Finally Hold a LINE..

Wow,This post has -everything-. It runs the gamut from a simple "Should I fly?" post to a moral debate over right and wrong, rich and poor, racism, obesity, today's youth, and a near-miss flame war to boot!
Awesome read with a lot of well thought out responses but I'm sure the general lesson here is the same. If you think flying will make you happy, despite all the negatives, then do it. If you -don't- think you can survive four to eight years on food stamps working crappy hours just to fly for a living and fulfill your dream, then don't.
As I'm sure my fellow Marines on this forum can attest from when we decided to enlist, if it's what you really want to do, then do it! Don't let anybody's negative opinion stop you... But listen to them, because for the most part they have a pretty valid opinion.
