To the OP... my license was suspended and I’ve been hired by both regionals and a major. I was given the chance to explain every time. And it was for a more serious offense a lonnnnnng time ago.

Ditto. Didn’t know that. Glad they don’t do that to pilot cert if you don’t have renters insurance!

I was recently hired at a Major and I had my license suspended back in 15, for an unpaid parking ticket, that I forgot about . I also had a few other speeding tickets . I disclosed and explained the suspension in the interview . It was a non issue .

Disclose everything and you will be fine .

For sure but it depends on the state. Take Georgia for example the entire traffic code both moving and non moving violations are misdemeanor crimes punishable by jail time and/or fines but usually just fines the option of jail is there. There are several states like this.

Couldn’t you argue that a “friend” was to blame for the non moving violation?

You can argue that but the judge won’t care.

Sure you can argue anything but you'll need evidence.

I have one clarification about what I posted about non moving violations. For parking offenses in Georgia that only includes violations in the traffic code like fire lanes, handicap, in the roadway, etc. not things like a meter expiring, etc.

That’s outrageous! What if someone just has an old car they don’t drive anymore, they park it and let the reg and insurance lapse? Are you telling me that’s grounds for DL suspension?

That’s like charging someone with a DUI being drunk in their house.

You're supposed to file for non-operation registration in that case... they want their fees.

Is it so hard to just be responsible with your paperwork?
