Technically true, but I've never flown with a captain who enforces it.

The gate agents can be jerks and enforce it

This might be a doubt question, but what is multiple jumpeseaters compared to just regular jumpseating????

Some airlines limit the number of jumpseaters to the number of jumpseats in the cockpit. So theoretically a plane can have 5 people wanting to jumpseat, 40 seats open in the back, and only one cockpit jumpseat, so only one person goes.

Its a stupid rule and few captains would enforce it. I'm not a captain, but I've always been a the more the merrier kind of a guy!
