Another PRIA ?

Simple question:
I worked for Comair and Expressjet way back when. Left the industry in 2012 when the industry was really down, for a job in construction management (actually put that degree to use).
Decided to give it another go, based on how red hot the industry has been. I got hired recently by Endeavor.
I filled out all the forms for PRIA, and put both my previous companies on there and requested copies of what was sent. I got my FAA PRIA copy in the mail a little bit ago. But I just realized I’ve been on property for 7-8 weeks now, and I’m nearing the end of training, and never got a copy of my PRIA from comair or expressjet.
Question is this: is that because it’s been more than 5 years since I worked for a 121? Is anything going to come period? Or will they simply not send anything back to endeavor because it’s outside the 5 year window?
No failures, but would be interested in seeing my records just to see what was in there.

You’re not getting anything because you’re outside the 5?year window. You wouldn’t get anything from Comair even if it had been less than 5 years because they went out of business. The company you’re applying for has to make what the FAA calls a “good faith effort” to get your records. They will send it to the last address and when it bounces back, the check is considered complete.
FWIW, the FAA has said at some point in time (months, years, decades) they want to set up their own repository of training records so that failures from failed airlines can be reported. My guess is that it won’t happen anytime soon.

Yes, if the hiring company pulls a FOI request with the FAA. Some do and some don't. However, not all training events at an airline have an IACRA form. So things like AQP gateway training event failures would not come up that way, nor would any disciplinary issues steaming from performance issues.

So even if Endeavor sends a PRIA request to Expressjet, they just won’t send anything back? Because it’s been 7 years since I left? Does that mean any records they maintained on me no longer exist? I just would have liked to see a copy of my records out of curiosity what they kept in there.

That wasn’t really the point he was responding to. FAA records will be pulled as well. If there were a failure during training where IACRA was used there would be a record of this training outside a PRIA request. That was the point we were making, though he was pointing out that not all training failures will be reported to the FAA.

Contrary to what somebody said above, a defunct company such as COMAIR would have a records custodian who would handle this sort of thing. But since it's been more than five years, they may have just stopped responding to PRIA requests.

Thank you Rick. That’s exactly what my thoughts were. I figured they’d at least send back something saying “no records within previous 5 years.” I suspect you’re right, that they just didn’t waste the time sending me a copy saying nothing was sent. I hear so much talk/speculation/fear over the “dreaded PRIA.” I’ve never seen a PRIA response so was kinda looking forward to seeing what it actually looked like.
