Hey SuperSix! Whats up? Congrats on XJET again!

Liked the FTDs, kinda nice to have a fully functional flight deck to work on before sims. Loved the PS travel on days off. And the fact that everyone is super helpful around the training center. They really make you feel welcome, like you're part of the family.

You should know the stuff they told you to know cold before you got there. Namely the flows, profiles and callouts. Make that white binder and that cockpit poster your new best friends. If you can get to training and not have to dink around learning that stuff and can start to focus on the when and the why it will make your life that much easier. You'll have that much more time to learn how to work with your partner and get into the systems and do a thorough review of each lesson with your partner before you ever head into the sim.

Actually she came out to me with the binders and poster and said something like welcome aboard! I dont recall anything else other than fingerprints down there and pee-pee test at terminal.....She probably told me what I needed to know, but I was in a Happy-fog at the moment ..

Supersix, what kind of times did you have? I'm planning on applying as soon as I hit 100 multi.

Just a few things that I wished I knew before I got there:

1) You will need a proper flight-bag, bring your own or buy a $350 one from some guys on property.

2) You will need three 2" Jepp type binders and one 1" for the Jepp Charts.

3) Pray from now until then that you get a compatible roomie; some people in my class were really not good for each other.

4) Training is unpaid until you pass your PC so bring cash.

5) You should have at least one dress shirt and tie for your Oral and Checkride.

6) If you are not coming off of a turbine-powered aircraft, go get the Turbine Pilot Flight Manual and become familiar with transport category aircraft systems and terminology. For example, some people in my class did not know what a bleed was...really.

7) Though you can go home on your days off, if possible resist the temptation and focus on passing all your gates on the 1st attempt- the washout rate was pretty high during my time in the training center.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.

supersix-4, you ex-army?

Know the flows. You got the binders and the packet, which is better than what I got (just the packet). They're not giving out the white binder anymore. That being said, if you know the flows and what you're actually looking for before you get to training, you'll be that much further ahead. There are several people in my class that aren't up to speed on the flows, and it shows. We start FTD in the morning.

Good luck!
