I transitioned from GA to 121 non AQP. The organization of the process depends on training department. I went from Indoc to Line check complete in 85 days with a 3 week break in the middle. Non-AQP but we still had GFS sessions organized before SIMs, SIMs then checkride. The last SIM was a “mock” validation. If you needed help the company arranged for more SIM training. It was very organized and stress free. 1 oral and 1 checkride. Much easier than all the other nonsense. The checkride itself was equivalent to the AQP Manuevers validation from what I understand. We did a loft for practice after the checkride.

AQP can also be a challenge to those who are starting at their first 121. The KV and MV are easy enough and straight forward but it seems it’s the QLOE that is the biggest speed bump. Doing a line flight evaluation only doing a few sessions can knot some people up. That’s what I think was advantageous of a PC, no different than any cert ride they’ve taken before.
But as stated when a program does it well, it can be well above any PC training program.
