I'm at the Hilton. No outdoor pool, but yeah the wx has been amazing. I'm just getting ready for the sims later this week. Ground school has been really good though. Awesome instructors.

Question... The packet says to bring "Aviation Weather" AC00-6A, amongst others. Is that necessary the first day?

P.S. I know of a good pool

Darn, none of the comair hotels have an outdoor pool.......Guess I will have to find a park if I want to sit outside and study!

2 years ago when I was in training, they never asked to see it and we never used it. I have it sitting in my bedroom someplace.

They give you everything in class you need to study. If there was anything else you wanted to bring ya could, but none of the books they said to bring we ever used. And I just finished ground school last week.

Don't even bother bringing the Aviation Weather or your FAR books. You won't need them! They were suppose to update that 'Welcome' letter a long time ago. On the other hand, bring a headset, 'cause you might need it later during Sim training. Also, if you have Jepp binders I'd recommend to bring them as well, 'cause Comair will only supply you with the plates.

My whole class brought the FAR and weather books. We never once looked at them. Everything was in the materials they give.

Good advice about the headset and jep binders.
