That's what you're worried about? Really? Those who have chased big bonuses over the last couple years are currently at Regionals that are shutting down and will be soon be out of a job. Be smart in your choice of Regional.

Im not worried. Im not at a regional. I'm not looking to go to a regional so yes. Really! Weve all said all along that management has instituted bonuses and not pay raises because bonuses can be removed instantly. Now that there is the potential for a glut of pilots on the street, im just wondering how soon bonuses will go away.

The bonuses may go down a little but I don’t see them being eliminated. For example let’s say XJT is the only regional hiring right now. I don’t know if that’s true or not but they are one of very few to say the least. If they hire you with no bonus as soon as your preferred regional starts hiring you are likely to jump ship costing them more than the bonus would have. If they throw 10-20K at you for a 2 year commitment you are far more likely to stick it out. For that reason alone the bonuses are going nowhere. The need for pilots and the competition for pilots hasn’t gone away. We’ve just pushed it down the road for a few months.

I don’t think it is going to be just a couple of months and I sincerely hope recent hires saved their bonus. I’m pretty sure we’re headed back to bankruptcy.... Also I believe far more 50 seaters are allowed in most scope agreements, but I’m sure the bankruptcy trustee will be sure to amend that.
