So I've been offered a class-date with SkyWest!!
I couldn't be more thrilled :-) I was so completely impressed with everything I saw during my visit to SLC that I couldn't imagine being anywhere else! And what a thorough Interview! You have to respect a company that really wants to see what you're made of like that...
Unfortunately, I didn't have the full two-weeks to give notice to my Flight Manager, but he was super-cool about it. Is there anyone else here I'll be seeing on the 28th for the CRJ??
And a question for you current SKW guys, I would really appreciate some info on what the Lines are like out of SLC, DEN, and ATL...if anybody could send me a PM I'd be super, super-appreciative! For example: Will an ATL crew flow-through SLC flying during a trip?
Well I guess I'm off to bed...I fly my last leg on the EMB-145 early tomorrow morning ::long sigh:: I'm gonna miss her a heck of a lot (and her Ram Horns LoL)...
Goodnight!
P.S. Am I hearing correctly that SKW has lowered their mins??!

Welcome. Are you LAMA?
Don't know much about ATL yet, it is just opening up.
SLC has a LOT of pilots living in domicile...it's common for them to delay upgrade until they can hold a decent line as a CA, so there are some very senior FO's. Recently they massively reduced the number of 4-day trips and increased the number of two day trips. This is good for pilots who live in domicile (home more often) and the company (less per diem and hotels), but bad for commuters who don't want an overnight break in domicile where they need a crashpad. I am still able to get mostly 4 days though. Both UAX and DAL trips start here, the DAL trips are pretty good, but the UAX often flow through places you don't want to go (ORD)
Historically, seniority (and schedule) has been better in DEN, due to super-senior folks in SLC but this is less true now with all the SLC growth. The downside to DEN is UAX trips that flow through ORD...lots of short, nasty legs and Wx potential.
The junior base is MKE anyway. Either DEN or SLC would be good if you live there, as a commuter I would probably take DEN.

I'll be there, guess we're staying at the Holiday Inn and not the Candlewood which is right next door.

Congratulations!
Actually the Holiday Inn just opened up within the last couple of weeks, it was being built right beside the Comfort while I was there for training last month. Looked pretty nice, you guys should be set.
I finally got word on IOE myself, about 4 weeks from a/c ride to IOE.

I got a "conditional" offer of employment...and a class-date for a week later??
I thought "conditional" meant in regards to completing the training program. I sure hope so 'cause I've just said goodbye to my company LoL
So, is most of the DEN flying in the 200 or the 700 would you say?
P.S. I LIKED Candlewood...I've never had anything good to say about my many-a-night at ANY Holiday Inn arghhh...

Currently I'm DEN based but I'm making my way around. I transferred to SLC (didn't hear about ATL until after accepting SLC) for June and was awarded ATL for July (my wife and I are moving there, ATL is centralized for both of our families). Just making the rounds! About 1/3 of the DEN flying is 700, all the 900 flying is Delta. The 200’s an OK bird but the CR7/9 are in a class of their own (beauty, power and technology).
As for ATL, no one knows yet but when June 9th comes around and I see them for the first time I’ll post my findings. Seeing that we already have about 15 destinations out of ATL and more on the way, I'm sure it'll mainly be 3 & 4 day commutable trips. There are 18 FO's now based in ATL for July so I'm expecting around 12 lines and maybe some flying through SLC but not much.
If you have any other questions then drop me a PM.
Good day!
