Default Lawsuit against CHQ???

I heard this from a friend who heard it from sue who heard from uncle harry who heard from his oldest chicken...so I wanted to see if anybody else had heard this. Continental is going to cut their contract w/CHQ and sue them for breach of contract? Anybody else hear this, or is the oldest chicken full of it?

From what I hear (all secondhand) the CRJ200 operation is a total wreck. If that's the case and CHQ isn't meeting performance standards, then that would be what Continental would potentially be terminating the contract on.

Haven't heard anything about it though.

Buncha crap. This little rumor popped up when we first started doing Continental stuff and our performance in IAH was beyond embarassing. Nothing says good times like trying to operate airplanes that sat in the desert for 3 years out of an airport we don't have any actual gates at with ground crew who were less than happy we were there. Since then, things have improved 10-fold. My last trip we left on time or early on almost every leg, and the trips that got delayed (nothing beyond 5-10 minutes) were all due to ramp or customer service.

I highly highly doubt there is more than a one in ten thousand chance of Continental terminating the CHQ CoEx contract.

However -- the service CHQ has been giving Continental is so horrendous in many instances that I would not be surprised if Continental demands a partial refund because the contract is not being followed.

Some stations are spending tens of thousands of dollars in travel vouchers per month because of CHQ flights and that information comes from a station manager himself that I spoke with.

All that said, it is not entirely CHQ's fault since XJT essentially faked out Continental by keeping all 69 airplanes instead of giving them back they Continental seemed to think they would.

I've heard that Cal isn't very pleased with CHQ's performance, and that they have a limited time to straighten up. After saying all that I've just heard it from other crew, and gate agents.

The CRJ200 program when it started was a disaster. Too many planes trying to come on too quickly to cover too much flying. They wanted to go from 0 to 44 aircraft in 6 months. It has sinced been revised and slowed down to make things go a lil' more reasonable. I did CAL stuff allllll last month and actually enjoyed it...which was a far cry from the one trip I did in April where I wanted to kill myself. For as much flak as CHQ gets for it's operation in IAH, it's not ALL our fault. We've made a LOT of improvements on our share of the problem. CAL has also recognized that fact.

That would be a more correct statement. And I highly doubt they'll ask for a refund. There were days in May where we beat XJT realibility numbers and beat CAL mainline performance factors. How quickly things change...
