Yes, but isn't this a crapshoot? You might get sent to one of their other two airlines in a different jet based on the "needs of the company." This is based off of what they told me at the Air, Inc. job fair in Atlanta when I asked what the chances were of getting a 170 at DEN.

think the 1700 bux would go better into splitting multi time than an RJ course, but that's just me (you don't need it to pass training, nor get an interview) and typically the university individuals who push for these things do so to ensure that their hard efforts will pay off and there will be "butts in the seats" when the training events take place.

I can remember having discussion after discussion with the chief and assistant chief pilots at my university about glass trainers and how they're "not" needed, this of course well before I was hired at a regional. They would try to sell glass trainers as "great for getting you glass experience before you leave for an RJ, something future employees will like to see"...The real reason the school now sold 4 skyhawks to replace w/ 2 glass skyhawks isn't to help their students get regional jobs, it's so they can say "look at my pretty airplane, it's just like university's B airplane over there, but we'll do it for 5/hr cheaper than they will"...

That is true. You will know what certificate you are assigned to prior to training from what I've seen. You could always turn down the job if they offered CHQ or S5 instead of the RW 170. If you have over ATP mins and push for it, you'll probably get RW since they are growing the most and I have heard they have higher mins than CHQ(145/-200). What I don't know is if they can displace you to another certificate once you are trained. I'm sure they can displace you to another base within your certificate. You also can upgrade across certificates. From what I have heard though, you won't get DEN out of training. You'd have to spend a few months at one of the US Airways bases. Like was said earlier, they are taking delivery of more 170s for Frontier later this year, so things will change.

I also think that you should save your money and wait for the airline to train you. Any training you recieve in the JET class could be redundant or completly irrelevant. As for airlines, Lakes needs pilots badly. XJT will hire you at 600TT, but you will commute to LAX or ONT. SKW is a great decision because DEN base is stable and the company is stable. I would be careful of Republic in DEN though because I'm not sure if there are any opt out clauses in the contract with Frontier like there was with Horizon. With Horizon, each company could reevaluate the agreement after three years (12 yr. contract w/opt out clauses every 3 yrs.). Hope this helps... Good Luck!
