Ok this is wild. You asked this in another thread and I answered Envoy. But hear me out.

Have you looked at Silver? They have a base in TPA, yeah their pay is a bit lower, but you’re driving to work, QOL could be better. 121 time is 121 time, be it in a shiny new 175 or a shiny new ATR. I don’t know much about them, but it’s worth exploring.

Thank you for the reply, yea I applied to them and they called. What I got from them is straight to cargo in Texas and or SJU on a Saab. They also closed MCO, didn’t feel stable enough to skip on out of OO or Envoy. Allot of Airforce/Airlines mentors who said don’t do it if I had other jet options.

No it's not. Jet time will get your app pulled faster than prop time at most majors (SWA possible exception).

That's why I was told by people who would know, and my personal experience checks with that (phone started ringing shortly after jet transition, very shortly).

Ok that’s fair. Didn’t know much about them.

New hires hired in April this year have a line, flying 90 hours a month. Youll fly a lot and upgrade ASAP. This place isn’t bad at all. I came from XJT with high expectations. Somethings may need some work. But what regional doesn’t has its good and bad. Only came here to build time. Now about to leave for something bigger and better

This is such a lie dude lmao
Your phone rang because you got another type rating. Airlines don’t care what you fly as long as it’s turbine fixed wing.

You're wrong, I've seen this play out time and again over the years and even more so recently... back in the day when most commuter pilots flew props they obviously hired prop pilots.

And I did not get another type, already had it. Also already had plenty of jet SIC. It wasn't a recent training event either, because I had just gotten one those too on return from mil leave. Only thing that changed was jet TPIC.

They do care. Some more explicitly than others.

I got the Legacy call a week after finishing up my fed ride/OE (first jet captan seat but already had 1000+ TPIC in 135 twin turboprops). Hadn’t even updated the app yet. Sometimes things just work out funny.

As far as picking a regional airline to work for I would say Alaska ranks in the top 10. It will probably rank in the top 5 regionals if we ever get a new contract but that's not likely for another 2 to 6 years. Also Alaska really likes to hire pilots that have never worked for a 121 carrier as they don't know any better and are more likely to stick around instead of leaving for a better life at the big boy carriers.
