Pilot Luggage

I spent $49 at Marshals on a Samsonite bag with a lifetime warranty. People that paid more will argue it's crap but a captain I just flew with had the same bag and it's 4yrs old and counting with no issues. A more expensive one might last you 10yrs but will weigh twice as much, cost much more and look like crap for the rest of it. I've used Samsonite bags for the longest and have never had issues.

PNT is the way to go. They are heavy though. They do make a lighter plastic framed bag but I've never used one.

The only problem with the PNT bag is the weight. I have my original new hire travel pro that is going strong. If you don't drag it off a 8" curb with flight case attached it will last. I turn it around and slide it down. The weight probably isn't too much of a problem unless you travel on a foreign carrier thinking you will carry on your bag. Some actually enforce carry on weight restrictions and you'll end up checking the bag whether you like it or not. The PNT is close to the weight limit before you put anything in it.

They have been around for at least 8 years that I know of. I bought the metal one, but a friend of mine has the resin. Got trashed being crammed into the baggage pod on a J ball.
