Q in regards to recent pay bumps.
Were these pay bumps negotiated with the unions (if applicable) as permanent changes to the CBA?
Were they hourly pay bumps or just bonus or retention pay?
Catches or qualifiers? Do you have to stick around for a given amount of time?

Regarding the ones released over the weekend, not bonuses. Actual pay bumps. It s a nuanced LOA where some of the pay increases are permanent. Some are temporary. I m not aware of any provision requiring pilots to stick around but I ll admit to skipping over parts not applicable to me.
Gotchas? Envoy s contract was extended from 2024 to 2029. Also something there allowing the company to start new hires on a higher step for pay if company chooses which is a concession. None of these reps will be here long enough for these two concessions to hurt them in any way, so...
It doesn't sound to me like much negotiating took place. Looks like AAG came down with a similar offer to all three WO regionals and it was signed by Envoy and Piedmont quickly. Last I heard, PSA was holding out, didnt like some concessions in their deal.

The bonuses are of course inherently temporary.
The permanent components of the raises are modest, but nice.
Bottom line, if you looking for a long and lucrative career, keep updating your apps with the majors.

The majority of the raises are temporary and snap back within a certain time period. Although the airlines may well extend that based on supply & demand.

But in the end it's still a regional which means it's a stepping stone. Everyone should be getting to where they want to finish so they can start building seniority there. But there are some that may decide to hang around for the pay and whatnot. Might be a good recruiting tool for new hires though.

Some of the permanent components were more than modest. But yes, the permanent pay scale was 'modest, but nice' as you put it. Some permanent details that I think are more than modest is the 100% override to line check airman, no more cap at pay step 12 and now extends all the way to step 20, captains on property for more than 6 years move to pay step 20, and sim check airman pay increased to 130-145 hours per month.

It's at the completion of your 5th year. Not the same as 'haven't flowed in 5 years'. Think of it this way. In your first year, you're on step 1 pay, but have completed 0 years of service.
