Not to be "that guy" but Embraer dropped the "Regional Jet" monicker with the 145. The 170/190 are simply called E-170's and E-190's. Drive on...

Because they can't in good conscience call the 170/190 "regional jets!"

You're an idiot.. the CR9 carries more pax than a E170. Why not call it out.. oh I know.. cause it looks like a lawn dart instead of a "real" airplane.

Dude...I really hope that was sarcasm because as far as I knew, we were talking about the Embraer, NOT it's Canadian counter-part, alright? Give me a break man.

And don't ever call me an Idiot.

The "Lawn Dart" title has been reserved for the F-16.

US Air is flying the E190 for around the same pay as what RAH is paying their pilots. Any comments on that???

It actually tops out lower than the RAH pay. Don't know how the work rules fit in there for the total pay. I'm assuming that someone would get their foot in the door then upgrade to better paying equipment at US. Otherwise, I can't see why you'd take that pay on the 190 without expectations of moving up in aircraft. Of course this assumes they don't get burned to the ground by the merger and eventually start hiring someday a few decades from now.

Majors: There are several flavors, but they all sell their own tickets (or package service), and mostly fly larger aircraft...
-Legacy: Extensive international service and have been around a while, UAL, AA.
-National/LCC: Domestic only, SWA, JB
-Big cargo: UPS/FDX

Regionals: Contract, don't sell many or any tickets
-Jet Regionals: Fly RJ's (SKW, AWAC)
-Commuters: T-props only (Colgan, Big Sky)

ACMI are kind of their own category. Startups such as VA and Skybus are not worthy of recognition at this point (and hopefully never will be ).
So what category does XJT fit into with your scheme?
