I heard this thru someone with a friend at Colgan (No it wasn't SAAB). Of course it should be taken with a grain of salt for now since rumors fly as often as pilots. I was looking to see if anyone else had heard something similar.

Lets play devil's advocate for a second, what does everyone think would happen if Colgan did lose the Q's?

Yeah, I'd say there's a good chance of that.

I was thinking more along the lines of what would happen to that line of Q's out of EWR. Would somebody else pick it up? Opinions who that might be? Would it go away totally? Use your imaginations.

Saab shouldn't you actually fly and stop making up useless CJC rumors?
Jesus brotha, you think Im that heartless............. I did hear though that CAL might be rethinking the Q400's because of their size and lack of room in EWR, but to be honest that airplane is perfect for a ton of the northeast stuff

The contract has already been awarded to Colgan, Pinnancle Holdings purchased the aircraft to be flown by Colgan Air. These are the facts folks.

In fact the contract has strict completion factor limits which will be interesting to see how Colgan does. The aircraft have increased GW kit and increased Tailwind kit so they can be operated per the contract with CAL that states they will operate off 29 @ R to not interfere with all the other traffic.

Talked to someone at CAL in planning, Q400 is on the 2008 fleet plan to be flown by Contintental, and it will only change if Colgan messes it up after it's started.

Q400 and CAL was the main reason Pinnacle purchased 9L.

Sorry, but probably will introduce as many problems as it tries to solve.

This always makes me laugh. I wonder if anyone has talked to EWR Tower or NYC Tracon. They rarely give you a break on departures off of 29. What happens when the winds don't allow this? Arrivals to 29 provide no relief when landing on 22L. Flew out of EWR for 7 yrs and ATC just isn't willing to work this angle very often, much less every day and every bank of departures. This will be the usual EWR Cluster F&*%. The only people that win are the bean counters and as usual the pax lose.
