Post Republicans won't change 1500 hour rule

Apparently Republicans in the House are refusing to change the 1500 hour rule:

At least call it the ATP rule.

Yes, it's the ATP rule... the one that requires "Air Transport Pilots" to have an Air Transport Pilot certificate.

And they actually waived the 1500 hour requirement for that in some cases.

Politically, I'd guess they'll raise the retirement age before they eliminate the ATP requirement.

So Sonic - are you also going to recommend a change in the 1000 hour 121 upgrade time? Because that’s currently the most limiting factor for many regionals…

”Fixing” the part of the supply chain that’s not the limiting factor really doesn’t change anything. More junior (or VERY JUNIOR) FOs without a CA in the left seat still don’t do much 121 flying…

He’s not a 121 pilot. His interest is in lowering the entry standard to 121 jobs to drive the cost of labor down across the industry.

Good. The only ones angry about this are 300 hour embry riddle/atp flight school pilots.

The 1500 rule is what made the salaries the way they are today.

And not fair for the people who broke thier back and risked thier life building time to 1500, while the chump with 300 hours gets a front row seat.

I'm glad the 1500 is here to stay.
