Do you still get paid the 75hr guarantee while waiting for IOE? If you do, that'll be a sweet vacation.

Why do you want to work more? With the new reserve leveling system that basically bypasses you after you reach 60 hours, you are going to make the same pay whether you work 2 hours or 75 hours. I don't know about you, but for me its the most $$$ for the least work.

I was told 3+ weeks for IOE which turned out to be 6 days. I gues the checkairmen are getting caught up... Oh well

CA upgrades get F/O pay (guarantee of 76/month) until the first day of IOE. I believe that new hires get training pay until the first day of IOE.

They did cancel the last vancancy bid for about 70 upgrades total, so the IOE times should come down.

I'm on Day 10 since checkride & got the call for the IOE CLASS on Friday. I asked, and there's still nothing on my line for observaton flights or IOE yet.

I havent done either, and I am wondering If I will be sent to the CVG class considaring I have done 50 load manifests in the last week and about as many preflights haha.... Im confused! Again! Whats new

Hmmm...I wonder if you'll eventually do the class? I got observation flights out of JFK next week then 2 4 days out of CVG for IOE.

Pass & Move on?

So, how many of you are planning on passing the checkride and then heading to Pinnacle? My understanding is that several people from each Comair NH class wind up quitting right after IOE and heading to Pinnacle for the $2500 signing bonus for qualified CRJ FOs.

I am going to be interviewing at Pinnacle for the unofficial Direct Entry Captain position in Sep. I would be doing it sooner, but I am also heading to Emirates for an interview and USA 3K.

I wish you all the best at Comair. Just remember, it's not a career airline anymore. But then again no regionals are these days.

Fueling the fire, eh? I wish you luck at Pinnacle then. You're absolutely right, there are not too many career regionals these days. But hey, the grass is always greener on the other side isn't it?

skyknight 08-02-2007 08:18 AM

It isn't so much the grass is greener as my belief that my grass is turning brown. I was one of the 70 some odd people who had an upgrade that was pushed back then outright cancelled. I didn't start looking at any other grass until then.

When I came here, Comair was a career airline. Now the VP of Flight Ops is telling people in class that if you have more than 5 years here, we don't want you any more. You are too expensive. I don't think he has looked at the seniority list lately, because if he did he would see that if everyone with more than 5 years quit Comair would be left with nothing but FO's.

The people you will fly with here are great, but over the 5 years I have been here morale has continued to decline. People used to go the extra mile to get 'er done, but now you get a lot of 'not my job'. I'm not saying that isn't happening elsewhere.....
