Post Time Building / Open time

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there is a regional or a few in which it is more likely to fly more and build turbine time faster? Also in terms of picking up extra time, is there a regional in which this is easier?

Thank you

Every airline has this. It fluctuates with the airlines needs and what’s been dropped or unassigned due to lack of staff. Given the current market where nearly (if not all of them) all regionals have stopped hiring FO there likely isn’t much if any open time flying being posted and any that is posted gets snatched up quickly. Most regionals at this point have an excess amount of FOs and a lot aren’t picking up extra time because there is no extra time to be had.

It saddens me that people coming into the industry are already talking about picking up open time before they’re even on property.

Why is it sad if people would like to work more and get more experience/ time flying?

Why is it sad to want to work more, gain more experience and pick up more flight time?

No, not unless you can come in as a CA. You'll have better luck Part 135/91 if you are looking to time build.

Kind of putting the cart before the horse here. We are no longer in the days where you get to pick your Regional. Getting on and getting a class date with a Regional should be your first priority as that in itself is not an easy thing to do these days. Once you are lucky enough to get a class date then you can worry about your time build/mission hacker phase (which will wear off pretty quickly, fyi).
