Putting fingers on the glass (EFIS, TCAS, Stormscope, Radar, FMS). Come on, it leaves prints.

Leaving the stormscope in the menu mode. It doesn't do any good unless you press the 360/120 button.

Slow radio calls in busy airspace.

High time copilots who try to act like the PIC.

Advancing my powerlevers before I ask them to set power.

Refusing to hand fly the aircraft after 200ft on climb out and outside the FAF. What are they going to do when the AP fails and they have no feel for how the airplane handles?

All you captains, next time before you yell at your F.O. for your personal pet peeve, think back to being an F.O. If we haven't flown with you before, we have no idea what you want from us, other than SOP's. Look at these two quotes...

There are confilicting preferences on just about every operation of the aircraft, and an FO's biggest challenge is adapting to each person they fly with (within sop's of course). Cut us a little slack.

As a CA, I always ask myself to 2 questions:

1. Is is unsafe?
2. Is it illegal? (FAA or company)

If I answer "no" to BOTH, I can't ***** at the FO.

Oh my god!! I hate it when people touch the screens especially on the GPS in the Seabee!!!! ARRRGGGHH!! And when people read something off my laptop they drag their finger across the screen. Good god!

I'm all about the hand flying! All about it. Whats the point of flying otherwise?

My philosophy is-

I'm going to watch my FO's like a hawk. If they do something that I don't like- they'll hear about it.

I expect them to do the same to me, watch me closely. I make mistakes, even if it's not going to effect safety of flight, it could lead to it.

Oh and Colgan FO's- get a rolling flight case, the carry-aboard ones look rediculous.

I suggest you change your philosophy. "They'll hear about it," ain't gonna work.

personally i think the rolling flight cases look rediculous, and are redundant. Here is my rollaboard suit case, with my rollaboard flight case, my rollaboard laptop case, and my rollaboard lunch sack.....
