Default Regionals with Ohio Bases

Hey everyone, I've had my R-ATP mins for while now and haven't put in too many applications as of late because I am comfortable where I am at, but I need get started down the regional track as where I am at wont work out long term financially. Anyways, I had been seriously looking at Republic and PSA as they both have bases in CMH or DAY and because I am a Cadet with Republic and also a former Ambassador. Tonight when I was updating my resumes though, I stumbled across the main APC pages for Endeavor and Mesa and to my surprise they both list CVG as a base which would be great. The problem is I don't know much about Endeavor or Mesa as most of my classmates I graduated with ended up at either Republic or PSA so I have a pretty good idea of what's goin on at those two. Of course I have been all over APC and other forums searching for info, but most threads (for any regional) are full of bickering back and forth with good information being extremely difficult to find. Flow to AA, UAL, or DAL doesn't matter too much to me because at the moment, I like the idea of landing at Allegiant.

Short of getting blasted with a firehose of info, does anyone have some good links on Endeavor or Mesa before I send my apps in?

Mesa only has the CVG base for the 737. And as far as I know, they aren't hiring FO's for the 737. In fact, no airline is currently hiring FO's, so that includes endeavor.

Endeavor and Mesa both have fantastic training departments, and to my knowledge, are the two top paying regional airlines. (100/hr beats AAWO 90/hr.) that puts an extra $10,000 in your bank account at the end of the year if you fly 1000 hrs. A few more extra thousands of $ if you add in incentive time.

April 3rd will be the last of American Airlines flying for Mesa, after that will be United flying, and there will be a ton of flying for FO's under United.

Mesa has a flow to United (my timeline is currently 3.5 years)... and Endeavor has a flow to Delta. Not sure of the timeline for Endv.

Either way, Mesa or endeavor, both are great.

That's some good info and I appreciate it. Didn't know about CVG only being for the 73's so that's good to know. I have also seen a few threads/ posts about PSA's training not necessarily being bad, but a bit tougher and less forgiving than other companies.

I'm definitely aware of the backlog in FO hiring/ training and it seems most regionals are backed up till at least the third quarter but I figured I can get my apps in now in hopes that something will happen I suppose.

If you were choosing between PSA and Republic, Republic hands down. Better training, better work rules, better equipment. Not a bad place to be if you get stuck either. We also fly for all 3 legacies so you can get to know their operations somewhat. Plus if you work for PSA you’ll have a harder time going to AA outside the flow.

Also I think Delta used to have a base at CVG. I sincerely wish a legacy would establish a base there again would make my life significantly better!

Endeavor in CVG, Republic in CMH, PSA in DAY.

And yet somehow I spent nearly 8 years there with nary a black mark on my record, and I'm no Chuck Yeagar.

Now, the points about not going to PSA if you're trying to go to AA may be valid, but if DAY is an easy driving commute for someone I wouldn't turn PSA down. Could also turn into some opportunities in the training department in DAY if one was so inclined.

Ultimately once you get hired by a regional one should be immediately putting out apps to LCCs as soon as you finish training. Onwards and upwards.....

Look I wouldn’t take PSA off the list if you are anywhere near DAY….Yes, training at PSA has its moments. However, I managed work there for 3 years without any issues…. I know others who have as well….

I would look at Endeavor, PSA, and Republic….

Atlas (737), ATI, ABX, for the ACMI route…

PSA is definitely still in the equation. I have many close friends/ past instructors that have put in a good bit of time there an absolutely loved it so I have no doubt I'd be just fine there. I have my apps in at PSA and Republic so far and plan to have one sent to Endeavor once I get a subscription to Airline Apps.

Appreciate all the good advice.

If you're looking into Day, then Air Wisconsin also has a base there too and its junior.
