Default FAST Upgrade time!!!

Why is that when i go to a school to talk to people about AE and what we have they say, "I don't whant to wait 5 years to make CA" Do most of you kids forget that you need 3000Hrs to be a CA in most places? If you get hired with 500Hrs its going to take you time to get your time for CA. Like a buddie of mine went to left AE to go to a "Fast CA spot" Next thing i knew he was on the street looking for a job. he lost all of his Time and had to start at the bottom of the list sitting Airport RSV. If you people get one thing from this is
1. Where do you want to live/ Commute to? Cause Commuting gets old fast. Just remember you are on probation and can be replaced don't play well there is a pilot shortage going on so they wont fire me card!!!
2. How stable is the place
3.Benifets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Is there growth/ people moving on to biggerthings
5.is it a fun place to work, are there good people there

Eagle has some good things going for it, but the historical upgrade over the last five years makes it a very difficult pill to swallow unless you expect to remain at eagle for life...

In today's environment you could get hired at many other regionals, upgrade, get 2000 PIC, get hired by a major, and be off probation before you could upgrade at eagle. There are 6-year eagle veterans coming to work at SKW (and presumable CHQ and XJET) for this reason.

Also regional FO wages for 5-10 years DOES NOT work for anyone with a family.

As the upgrade time comes down, more folks will be interested.

The argument with AE right now is 8 years. I talked to a DFW ERJ FO the other day who had been there 9 years? Passing up upgrade? Maybe...

EGF is good though.

Not all of us are going to enter at 500 TT anyway. Even if we do, we can go somewhere that has upgrades at 2-3 years and be eligible for upgrade at minimums. Eagle is not a bad place to work. It's just not great if you don't want to work for AA or be Eagle for 10+ years.

Heres the trick. Go somewhere that will make you happy. That has bases where you want to live, or are easily commutable to. Where QOL is decent and same is the compensation. (this obviously excludes TSA, GoJet......dare I say Mesa?) Just go to training, have fun, enjoy your regional time.
