Thanks for the replies. Guess I can save a bit of money! I know to take what people say on here with a grain of salt. I will definitely be going to PNCL. It's going to be a much better place than the "other" airline that I had an offer at. What is one man's trash is another man's treasure. Hopefully PNCL is not my trash or treasure but a good place to get started in the industry and advance my career as a professional pilot. I am looking forward to class and will see you all on the line in a couple of months.

Indoc test is pretty easy, you take it after your first week. It's almost open book, the instructors will go over some of the questions on the test.

It's an SIC type, which means no steep turns or zero flap landing. That is the only difference.

Are you saying that during the checkride, there will not be a steep turn nor a zero flap landing at PNCL?

How about stalls during the checkride?

That is correct, no steep turns or zero flap landing on the checkride. But yes, there will be stalls on the checkride. Takeoff and approach to landing stalls. No clean stall.

Oh and my class got our Jepps at the end of ground school. I got my binders at olive branch airport - they were selling them for $8 a piece, since I guess all the FedEx guys went to electronic flight kits and were getting rid of all their binders.

The basic indoc test is not open book. Just study the FOM and its a piece of cake. The day before the test they give you a really good overview as well.

TravelJunky, your life must be pretty miserable because you seem like a person who complains about everything that isn't what you think it should be. If someone is excited about a new job, who are you to try to talk hiim out of it. Show some class. With that said, I love being at PNCL, I live in base (MEM) and am home quite often. The flying is fun, the pilot group is awesome and with the perks of the quick upgrade, I don't want to be anywhere else. I left another regional to come here for many reasons. One thing I will agree on is the lack of consistency in the training dept. Some people in my class busted on things that were ridiculous. Also, if you are looking for decent Jepp binders, go to Olive Brach airport, like Yzerman said, because you can get them very cheap!
