I had a baby girl that was born 3 weeks before xjt training. I went home every weekend during training to see her. So i would definetly go to an airline that will positive space you home during training. It wasn't easy but now i have about 4 weeks off waiting to OE and hanging out with her all i want getting paid. My wife quit her job to stay home with the baby. We did have to move to a different part of the country were we could afford cost of living on just my pathetic salary. but it can be done on just your salary. You just have to be willing to say bye bye to some of the pleasures that you think you need. But i wouldn't have it any other way. This day and age you can't trust anyone to raise your kid but you and your wife. It's hard but quite worth it. Good Luck!

Ditto. My wife and I have a baby girl on the way. She will stay home as all good mothers should do while I'm working. When I'm not flying I'll be working random shifts back home at my old job to help make ends meet.

I'm lucky that my wife is quite independent and doesn't mind me being gone for days at a time. I think she actually likes having the house all to herself.

Yeah but I am not one for much of a intelligent conversation as you should know. So he can go to school and get that!!

I guess it really depends on how much loan/debt I have going into this...
With Flight School loan, I will be paying couple hundered a month as is.

Don't you guys have student loan to pay??? It's hard for me to see how it's possible live off $2000(roughly) income when you have:

-rent
-bills/student loan
-food
-other expense such as car

I just can't figure it out... I guess it's all reletive to how much of above you have going out each month.

I put my school loans in forbearance for as long as i could so i could get off of the crap pay. That helped. Yeah it sucks to do that but its better than not making your payments.

My loans run me over two thirds of my monthly pay after taxes (inc. per diem)...factor in cellphone, car insurance (for a cheap car), and gas, I cannot even cover my expenses, let alone food. CC Bill I racked up to get here (flying, flying, flying and not working) can't get paid.

Dude - you're in for a treat. I Love what I do but it would be impossible w/o help, as I entered the regionals in a lousy financial state to begin with. Thankfully I've got the best friends in the world (a place to stay). I'm counting the seconds for second-year pay to kick in...

Heck, maybe I'll even move out of the friend's place, bypass the Parents and get a place of my own woohoo!

GMAFB! So what you are saying is that you are not a good mother if you don't stay home completely financially dependent on the father? Once again, GMAFB!

You'll probably be the first one to b!tch when you get divorced and she demands alimony and child support too, eh? I am sure you'll be more than happy to hand over over half your money because she stayed at home as all good mothers should do.
