Good luck!
Couldn't disagree more with the "hate the company and complain continuously" comment. Sure, we have complainers, find a company that doesn't. "Most" of the CA's here do not hate the company, in fact most want to see it grow. A lot of these guys were living in base, and now are commuting, of course they are mad. We (myself included) did have some long stints on reserve, HOWEVER it was NOT because there was no movement, they shrunk over 100 pilots off of the seniority list. If hired today, you can expect to hold a line pretty close to when you actually hit the line. I would guess that upgrade at both companies, if hired today, would be pretty close to the same time.

Key words RIGHT NOW. Will it continue? Who knows. Never make a decision based solely on right now, things change too much, although it can give you an outside guess as to what is going to happen by the time you would be through training (probably about 3 months from this day at best, completely guessing...that's a while).

I should change item #2 on my above list to pay/work rules...and my .02 is that I can't see anyone topping Whiskey's work rules in the near future.

I've got a buddy at Wisconson who has been on reserve for a year. Most of the Captains he flies with hate the company and complain continuously.

You have to understand that a lot of the captains at AWAC right now have been here for 10 plus years. They were here back when AWAC was a top of the line airline. People wanted to come to AWAC just as bad as some wanted to go to the majors.

Things have definatly changed now, and not for the better. That is why a lot of the captains that have been here for so long, "Dislike" the company. They were here for the Glory Days, and it is not like that now.

Ive only been here a short time, but so far I have been treated well on reserve. And for reserve times, people that are going to PHL are getting lines right out of training. If our attrition keeps up, our upgrade time is going to be right around RAH or XJet or any of those airlines. Good luck on your desision.

this is the biggest load of crap i've ever heard. most of the captain complain all the time? i wonder what source do you have... i can tell you from my experience that most of the captain i flew with are a pleasure to fly with. obviously some of them got screwed with the move out east, but the atmosphere here at AWAC is still decent, definitely not any different from what you'll find at any regional. besides, most of the recent "unhappiness" has been caused by a never ending settlement about our concessionary contract. hopefully this will come to an end this month. and in the event the arbitrator will rule in favor of the pilots again (hardly, but not impossible), then AWAC will be the place to be. even with this current contract, i rate AWAC definitely among the top 3 regionals.
anyway texasman, i wish you the best of luck with whichever company you'll dicede to go with!
