Compass Hiring

Compass Hiring
Just wondering if Compass is still calling for interviews? I know they have most classes full through August but still looking for options.
Also wondering what does it take to get a call. I have heard of all kinds of experience getting calls, that is except me. Dont live in MSP, which seems like it helps, but times are...
3600TT
1825 PIC (no turbine)
2100 ME
A-300, A-320 (full type), MD-80, DHC-8 time
Besides no PIC turbine what would be killing me...any ideas?

I just heard they hired an off the street Captain with no jet time. Just a bunch of left seat 1900 time.
You should be getting a call soon. They will be hiring low time guys for sure with that pay scale.
Good luck!

And trust me. They aren't lacking qualified candidates based on what I've heard so far. Latest class (started last Wednesday) takes the seniority list to 59 pilots. (20 management +39 line guys).

Everybody they've hired so far is a "street captain" (Upgrade/Pay increase coming at the end of training).

Based on their hiring forecast, I wonder if most of the flying will come from mainline DC9 replacements? Only time will tell.

I would surmise that some of it will be DC-9 type flying, however NWA also has plans for on property delivery of Embraer aircraft as a replacement for the 9's. I wouldn't expect to see them go anytime in the immediate future.

I doubt that...I am the lowest time guy in my class and I have over 4000 hours...and over 2000 T-PIC...I know that there isn't any one in my class without T-PIC...some don't have much, but all have it. There is one guy in my class with I think 7 type ratings...Has been a check airmen on the 747-400, DC-10, and 737-800. He has flown cargo all over the world and worked for several airlines due to furlough's....He left Jet Blue to work for Compass...didn't like the commute I guess. He also has ratings in several other large transport aircraft. Most of the guys in my class have at least 4 or 5 years as Jet CA's.
I have heard that they are starting get a lot of applicants that aren't up to snuff. One of the interviewers told me last week that they had to turn away 2 entire days of ppl with no possible new hires.
Skid I'm sure you will get the call if you keep your stuff updated, and for it is worth I got hired and I don't live in MSP...live Much farther South.

There is also 2 more 1900 guys in the class behind me.....For what its worth, I think the 1900 guys have a much easier ride in that 727 sim. I have heard that some ppl with only glass time have been having a really tough time getting that scan down. I think they also like the fact that most of the 1900 guys have good attitudes and have really had a lot of contact with the passengers. They are really trying to push the idea of treating the pax better and doing what ever it takes to do that....Regardless of what they call us or what we are paid.
They are making hats and jackets mandatory with the uniform too because they want to see some respect come back to this profession. So far I agree with most of what they have had to say and have been treated very well. Almost like being a human again.
