I know its not the norm to carry around a backpack with you but its not like i'm going to be wearing it on my back. Thoughts...?
i flew with 1 captain who had a back pack he wore all the time, and he is the only captain i have flown with who i thought was a goober.

Just my .02, but I think it looks unprofessional over your shoulder. Keep it on your roller.

Do airlines supply you with their standard luggage, or is upon yourself to get it?

It was probably ToiletDuck. He wore a backpack to his interview at rah.

On a 12 day trip out in the pac most guys carry a backpack, pax and cargo. I realize you guys arent doing that. When I was at ASA I mostly did stand ups so my overnigh kit cosisted of a toothbrush in my jacket pocket. I guess I just never really gave it much though since the vast majority of crews I see walking though the airports over there are carrying backpacks. When you pack for ANC and SIN in the same trip you have carry all that crap somehow, not to mention the duty free liquor you buy for the next 3 day layover and all the knockoff crap you accumulate passing through China

Wear/carry whatever you want. Just don't expect management to treat you with any more respect than you treat yourself/your profession.
