So it's a Hybrid Q400? As long as it has active noise cancelling in the cabin it will probably be decent.

No, lol, that would merely be adding a complex and unproven technology. This is also planning to use a previously tested and rejected one.

1) unducted turbofans (as noted above, noise concerns killed attempts in the 70's)
2) battery electric assist

They can mostly fix that today, with CFD.

Jets were pretty loud back then too, look at what they've done with current generation turbofans.

The rear engine, front fan configuration is probably done to shield the fans from each other with the tail/fuselage, for blade-off certification.

I mean it looks plausibly certifiable, just not sure about the economics of a clean-sheet design like that.

5 across seating in economy? There goes the only advantage to RJs: no middle seats.
