I don't understand how JO is able to get away with those kinds of prices. That is pretty much predatory pricing.

The practice of predatory pricing is what I was referring to. Go is a small, wholly owned cog in the infamous MAG machine. Ticket prices at Go do not even come close to covering the airlines expenses but thats ok because Go is being subsidized by the rest of MAG. MAG is large enough to absorb any losses incurred by Go effectively killing the local competition in Hawaii.

I have met several senior Mesa pilots and they seem like great guys. I got stuck in Mexico on non-rev travel and a Mesa captain was ferrying an airplane back and offered me a ride to get me back. They seem like great guys. So, the questions are:

Why would good pilots stay at such a poophole place? Most of them have enough time to apply at the majors. Why don't they get out of there? There's so many other places that are hiring.

If this JO character is causing so many problems and people hate him so bad, why doesn't the board get rid of his sorry ***? Disgruntled employees lead to low productivity. If he is the reason for the low moral, he needs to be disposed of.

When it comes down to it, all the board cares about is the bottom line. With all this expansion in China coming up MAG is doing the board is probably pretty happy as long as their stock keeps going up.

Agree on the negotiations thing, I can hear it now- "well, we're losing money in Hawaii, so you gotta take this contract or we'll have to send planes to China. Between the junior pilots and our spineless union, I have little doubt JO will triumph in the next contract negotiation.
The alliance is United Airlines with Aloha...

Common, rightseatdude, give the guy a break, eh. He's just curious what the current events are. The man's simply trying to keep tabs on the industry, that's all.
