Don't they already have a water fire extinguisher? Although some guys may need the fire hose!

He was fairly studly, so he would always end up with a date or two by the end of the trip

Wow, that is awsome.

I've told my girlfriend (early 20's) that when I do move on to a major airline that I'll likely be flying with older guys/girls. We have been together since high school so she knows how the industry works.

A few weeks ago she was waiting to get onto a US Air flight and was sitting somewhere near the gate and the crew came by and sat down next to her while waiting for the inbound aircraft. She said now she understands about having to work with older guys. She said both pilots were old and that the gray haired FO was hitting on her while she was sitting there at the gate.

So, to the author of the thread, when have ethics ever had a place in aviation?

haha I love how the original poster on this thread used the word "ethical." When it comes to ethics, all bets are off when it comes to 1) aviation and 2) making a pass at someone.

Perhaps a better medium of discussion would be the professionalism of "hitting" on a passenger. Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised that this would even come up. Common sense tells me that it's most certainly unprofessional to be making passes at your passengers (who are paying customers, trusting you -the professional- to take them safely across the skies in a thin metal tube at 75% the speed of sound).

Ethical? Who cares?

Professional? Absolutely not.

On the other hand, if the pax makes the first move......

And well you should, in fact if you're not having fun you're doing it wrong!

My point is reference the thread title: "is it ethical to hit on (hot) female passengers?"
I'd take it an extra step for clarification and ask:
Is it ethical to hit on any passenger while at work and wearing the company uniform? The operative word here is: Ethical
Like the pilot who gets stopped at security with booze on his breath or gets caught smuggling contraband, the public will hear "airline pilot" and not much else. When the media reports the story of the pilot who hits on the 17 year old by mistake, or the HR professional who reports him, or any other good idea gone bad - the entire profession gets a black eye.

So with the question being is it ethical, in my mind, no, it's not ethical.

HSLD... is right on....

If you are not having fun....either change what you do.... or HOW you do it...life it too damn short to be doing something you dont want to do just because you feel like you have to.
