congratulations and welcome aboard. i'll be in upgrade training when you show up, so i'll see you then. welcome to a great company where you get treated with a lot of respect. i'm a former trans states pilot, so i know the other end of the spectrum. what base are you trying for? are you coming into the rj or the brasilia? good luck in training. see you at free food wednesdays at the candlewood!

Did somebody say free food???? It's sounding good already ;)

I'm coming into the CRJ. Not sure on the base yet. I live in Seattle, so the closer the better. I was thinking SLC or SMF (have friends & fam in Sac) if possible. Then again, if I could hold a line in ORD out of the gate, that would be tempting.... thoughts?

Congrats on the upgrade. Hope to see you in the halls!

I have two words for you. One of them is 'Mil', and the other one is 'waukee.'

Realistically, though, you're looking at perhaps three or four months for SLC, and probably a good year for SMF. If you have decent seniority in your class, as determined by your SSN, you might have a shot at ORD. Don't know about a line though.

I'd say more like 6 to 8 months for SLC and 15 months for SMF. With no more A/C coming, things will slow a little bit.

Yeah. SkyWest is really false advertising these days. They should call if SkyMidwest. Or maybe SkyWaukee. Something else.

By the way, the DHC-6-100 is cooler than the -300.

Milwaukee, huh? Well I can't imagine a crash pad would be terribly expensive there....

What do you do for fun in Milwaukee.. they still go cow tippin' these days :D

In order from least to more senior & estimated times to hold reserve (not a line):

MKE (training), ORD (2-3 months), SLC (6-8 months), DEN (8-10 months)...............................

PS. If you’re commuting by air then it's always better to hold a line, even if your commute flight is 3 hours. You'll make more money and have more time off.
