Post Pinnacle Training Study Guide

Does anyone have, or know of, a study guide that would provide prep for the oral during training? The only thing we have been provided is a limitations packet and a walk around powerpoint (and the manuals of course). Any help would be appreciated!

For the oral you MUST know walk-around slides, limitations, memory items. Know in FOM 3585, alternate regs, etc. The oral is very straight forward as far as systems go. They don't want you to build the airplane, just know what every switchlight does and be able to tie them into limitations.

Curious, why exactly would you want to go to that place? There are better options. Are you familiar at all with the company's environment?

Could be a billion reasons. Maybe he already lives in MSP, MEM, or DTW, and does not want to commute. Maybe he is looking for a fast upgrade. etc.

See if you can get a hold of a bid pack CD, they have the walk around slides on them.

Travel Junky, what is your problem? Haven't you been set straight on numerous other threads when it comes to your qualms about Pinnacle? I realize they are your opinions, but when you start attacking the pilots rather than the companies, you cross a line. Don't you think I did my research before I applied, went through the interview process, and packed up for training? Pinnacle was the right choice for me; I won't have to commute out of DTW (which I have been awarded), the all jet fleet, the quick upgrade times, and the large amount of flying all had an appeal. The environment here is great, because the people are great. Yeah, there are issues, but they are issues every airline goes through.
I don't need to get into to much more detail than that, because other people have already told you this, but you refuse to pay attention. Have you even let anybody who you fly for, or why you are so bitter towards Pinnacle?
Thank you lowflyby, shyguy, and silver02ex. I have a copy of the walk around slides, and know the limitations cold. The only thing that is making me nervous are the systems. I am going through the manuals, but it seems that other airlines have study guides for their manuals, and I was wondering if there is anything like that floating around for Pinnacle. Thanks again for your help.

So did you get turned down by Mesaba?

A better company can provide all of that except the "all jet fleet"... so I'm going to assume they either turned you down or you are a(n) _____

Nope, I had an interview set up with them, but turned it down when I got an offer from Pinnacle. Whether or not Mesaba is "a better company" is most definitely debatable, but I would argue that to each his own.

"Better" company is all relative. Up until not too long ago, Mesaba pilots were getting hosed.

Avros all parked, Saabs cut, total fleet cut almost 50%, and many layoffs as a result.

Then they got reamed through bankruptcy court and concessions that were forced.

To say that one red tail is better than the other, well, they're still red tails.

He may have his reasons for Pinnacle over Mesaba. I know with Pinnacle, DTW is extremely junior, for both FOs and Captains. Maybe he considered the upgrade times, currently better at Pinnacle. Or maybe he has friends that told him to come on over, and he got the Pinnacle interview first.
