I heard that Republic will hire you with less than 100 multi if you have your MEI. Is there any truth to that?

Goto Mesaba, they take into account the 'whole canidate'.

They took me with 21 hours of multi and said my 1200 hours, college degree, and years of instructing experiance made up for the lack of multi time. Thats the kind of company you want to work for anyway...

Pinnacle told me to go pay for a RJ course first and then they'd take me.... that tells you what kind of company they are...

Teaching in the twin is a great experience and I really respect the guys who have gone that route. I wish I had that kind of experience under my belt. I came from a small FBO with no chance of giving multi instruction. Instructing was great, I had a blast but I was earning less per day than a someone picking strawberries. I just had to move up and out of that, so I decided that since I would need to borrow money for the rating anyway that I may as well just grab the block time and try to get a seniority number all the sooner. I think it was a smart choice considering my circumstances.

In regards to safety pilot time: I have heard the the safety pilot needs to sign the other pilots log book and write his/her certificate number in the log book. I cannot find this anywhere, is there any truth to this like an Advisory Circular or some other guidance? How do you all of you log the S.P name?

I just had them sign it and wrote their name and safety pilot in the remarks section. 91.109 but it doesn't say anything about signing. I think we just do it to cya

Same with me, I have 25 of my ME hours logged as safety pilot time and Comair didnt give it a second look either. I dont think they mind at all as long as you meet the mins.
