Comair updates?
The same as when a Mesaba pilot flew NWA leased ac for NWA, a contracted pilot service. I wish that all the jets were being flown on the mainline contract. It will never happen and pointing fingers at each other will never do anything but feed managements happiness. I'm not claiming to have the answer to the whipsaws. There are people much smarter than me that tackle that question every day and don't have an answer. But I knew for my ten years at the regional that even if I didn't go to a major I didn't wish for the regionals to get more ac over the majors. I still wanted as much flying as possible at the majors for those behind me even if it didn't include me. I have benefited from those in the past that fought hard contracts. I have also been stung by the selfishness of those who sold out scope at the majors for gains at their time and not for the years ahead. Which in my opinion is the same as wishing that the regionals get more and larger planes. Saying, will I didn't get mine at the majors so I will just do the best for me and screw those who come behind me. It cuts both ways and both are selling out our future. IMHO.
When looking at the stand by list on travel net, there is no way to tell who is a Delta passrider and who is an Other Passrider. So is it basically impossible now to look at the loads and determine what you chances are of getting on a flight? Basically a 2007 Delta guy will get on before a 15 year Comair guy right? There's just no way to tell who is who.
Yes and no. Yes, you can't tell before the flight leaves, which I understand is what matters the most. But if you don't get on you can click on the flight and then the standby list and see the boarding priorities and make sure you didn't get left out of order in priority. Also with your pilot scenario, that is only on mainline flights, not on Comair, Compass or Mesaba. You fly DOH on all three. So even on Mesaba you go on as DOH at the same priority as a Mesaba pilot with DOH.

Yes you can. The only thing you can't see is where the person works. Prior to flight, on travelnet, list for your flight, then go back and click on that flights standby list. See where you name falls on the list. It is in order and you can clearly see how many are listed in front of you. Travelnet puts the listings in order of priority by class and then in order of DOH within the class. On a Comair, Compass or Mesaba flight you come up as active(s2,s3) on mainline flights your listing is under retiree/other, S3C then further broke down by doh. It is listed in boarding order.

Comair pilots and Flight attendants! We have heard about some of the Crews of Delta calling themselves "OD" or Original Delta", We have also heard of NW crews calling themselves "DINO" or Delta in Name Only". Now us Comair crews will have our own name. We will use "The Unwanted Regional of Delta". From now on we will be known as TURD's. Please make a note of it.
