For that job a lot. Home every night, only have to say no to mang. since they always come to them with crazy proposals, yup sign me up. The Comair MEC has been a joke since J.C. ran the failed strike
Like I said....my opinion. |

Just out of curiosity, have you ever volunteered for union work cast your vote to elect the status reps?

Yes, and yes. unlike 85% of the comair pilot group, I voted and volunteered. We can all say what ever we want about JC, but he and Cory really were not looking out for the best interest of the pilot group.

Really? The worst job ever?
Sure, the threat of losing your job at any minute, and the poor scheduling sucked, but I loved the people I worked with and loved flying at Comair. I can only think of 1 or 2 pilots that I did not get along with that well, and even then it was not a horrible trip. Again, I was JFK/DTW based, so I flew with a lot of junior guys that were great. My commute was great to JFK because I flew on B6. A little tougher to DTW, mainline DAL only, but that was only a few months till I left. I did come from "real world jobs" before flying at an airline, so maybe that is a factor too. Dig ditches, load trucks, be a mechanic, or work in a factory, and all of a sudden...flying anywhere becomes a great job! I used to unload 20,000 pounds of produce a day by hand at one job. Fueled aircraft in the summer heat and winter snow. Flying for Comair was the worst job I have ever had. |

I stand by my statement. Like you, I was JFK and DTW based. Took B6 to and from work while in JFK.

It seems that the more fortunate people on the lower part of the seniority list were those that got furloughed early. Many of them have found new jobs and have even upgraded.
I don't have much positive to say about Vomair except that it's still a paycheck, and I don't have to burn the furniture for heat (yet). |
Hey guys go to Epic and check the latest memo regarding furloughs next year.
