Anybody get the scoop on the CHQ EMB rejected take off on 36C last night at CVG? Crews were sweeping the runway for about 2 hours and looks like they did an evac too as the CA's L window was out. I guess they threw a fan blade or something...

On the FAA report is says they blew a tire and exited the runway.

You are pretty clueless then if that is really what you think! There is so much going on behind the scenes that you (or me) are privy to.
Things are still being negotiated to mitigate furloughs. Believe me when I say this current MEC is committed to this pilot group; even more so than the last MEC. I understand that you are probably frustrated with the whole situation, especially if you are on the furlough bubble and it's easy to point fingers, but they are fighting hard for the entire pilot group, not just the senior fellas or junior guys. And contrary to what you believe or how some people may have misread some of the communication, furloughs are the top priority. Then the union needs to learn how to communicate effectively with the pilot group. |

Never!!!!
Hey Zap, your Avatar is making me hungry. I always wondred why Porkins was having a little trouble during the attack on the death star then that tie fighter came up and did him in. |
question about the standing bid
If I bid 70 fo 100% for cvg, how do I bid 50 fo cvg and then 50 fo jfk to work in that order?
I think I may have screwed my bid up just a little. On another note, how are we have standing bid updates when we don't even know what the COLA's, and voluntary furloughs will look like? |
Cmon...Chow. You know that would make too much sense. We are suppossed to be in Panic mode and we can't very well do that if we recieve clear concise information with which to make decisions about our lives on.
Do you think this is a professional organization or something? BTW, you need to voluntarily go, since we know you do not have to work anyway!!!! LOL.... |

As legend has it, when Porkins was hit by the TIE he lost partial pitch control, and since he had no artificial Gs he did not know his control inputs were degraded. He did not pull up hard enough to clear the surface, so in essence he basically CFIT'ed into the Death Star. In addition to Incom and Darth Vader, I think Porkins' family named KFC a co-defendant in the lawsuit after the Battle of Yavin. I think Col Sanders faked his death about the same time frame (1978?). |

Supposedly the ships had some kind of artificial gravity to simulate the feeling of pulling Gs. Some of the pilots turned the feature off so they could maneuver better, or in Porkins' case because he couldn't pull Gs like "the big boys".
