As long as Delta keeps counting all of our Ground Ops costs into our cost of operations, we will lose to the lowest bidder every time. Comair, who does ground operations at many many Delta/Delta Connection stations, supplies the ground staff and equipment to those stations. So who is cheaper? Comair or a company that just flies the planes.

First day is just HR stuff, they will issue your Comair ID as well. The next few days after that is ground school on the FMS, autopilot and normal operations of the jet to prep you for your launch sims and evaluation which will take place in your second week.

These questions are just too personal to be answered by web posters. It really depends on your situation. They say Eagle has a long upgrade time but right now Comair is running at 5yrs. Both companies have a lot of transitions in the near future. In all cases your enjoyment from your employment will dpend solely on what you bring to the table.

Sorry.....rant over C.S. is probably the most profitable thing in the company

You will have a lot of fun and you will have a lot to learn. The Comair guys that teach the stuff are great. They are there to get you through the training. They do not want you to fail.

Cessna, maybe my post wasn't clear or you didn't read it right. I didn't say it wasn't profitable. I said it was expensive to run, meaning we have higher costs than anyone else who just operates the flight, therefor we will never win in a lowest-bidder situation for new flying.

Bidding on flying has no relation to the cost of ground servicing. The cost of ground servicing is well offset by the revenues of ground servicing. That is like saying a nice restaurant like Jeff Ruby's steakhouse will not survive against Texas Roadhouse because their costs are 75% higher, even though they charge 150% more. The company has made it clear, and is correct in doing so, that the revenues made from CS and Maint of other airlines will not subsidize our higher cost of flying. They are opposite sides of the company and 1 is not meant to carry the other. C.S. and Maint revenues do make the company more profitable, which makes us as a company better, and gives us a higher profit sharing payment.
And no.....I'm not a Riddle grad/intern?

Does anyone know when the last time there was an RFP/RFI? I'm curious to hear whether we are being beat based on costs or if companies just haven't put out any new flying to bid???
