i feel bad for all you guys that always complain about how little money we make as pilots. guess what guys, we live in a world in where there's a little thing called supply and demand, if you can't understand that, then maybe you should go back to school. i know when i decided become an airline pilot, i knew the pay was low, the hours long and the days can be crappy, but i decided to pursue this career because of the many other benefits besides pay. so please stop complaining about these things or else find yourself another career, and if you got into this racket to make money, then i feel very sorry for you.

I'd have blue stains up to my elbows for 130K - kind of like a Hunter S. Thompson story...
The rich guys in the back could yell - Hey Smurf - come here and load the bags we need to go flying

When will you CRJ900 and EMB 175 people start negotiating new contracts and stop flying for low wages and the worst QOL. I just keep seeing all these bad regionals getting all this flying and cant negotiate a descent contract. Mesaba, pinnacle, and compass and skywest, oh and RP. all regionals are having a hard time getting pilots so why sell yourselfs for nothing now. its just getting worse and its sad if u think 11 days off is good with 22 buck an hr flying what should be a mainline airplane. and yes I work for a regional but one we wont fly 80 seat jets for crap. ok im tired of venting

I think you mean "who". You're right who cares. Go back to your thread if you don't understand how the "Airlines" work.
The point here is that we are replacing the jobs that we got in this industry to get. Pilots have a choice of where to work. Bottom line, don't work at a place that has crappy work rules for the quick upgrade time. We are/were professionals and don't need to put up with this BS when times are on labors side nowadays. Just because you have 250 doesn't mean you need to go out and work for Mesa, TSA, and Pinnacle. Management is still cashing in on the dream that we will get that quick PIC and go on to make mucho bucks flying the heavy metal. Look at the trends, everybody is expanding at the "Regional" level. A lot more of us will be "Regional" pilots. Once we are OK with that, maybe everyone should start negotiating pay rates that you can make a decent living at a "Regional".
Since paying an AIRLINE pilot based on seats was not very accepted on this thread, then how are we supposed to be paid? UPS, FedEx are paid based on size. Which goes back to my original post, bigger airplane equals bigger money.
Jmack, don't you corporate slaves who also get to fly airplanes get paid based aircraft size as well? Like Netjets and such. I used the term slave because that is what the majority of corporate pilots are. I flew corporate for a month and it was the only time in my life I hated flying. Show up to sit around and wait, then hurry up and put his bags where he likes them. Then make sure he has whatever he needs in flight like a flight attendant. Then when you land, go grab the bags again. After that, clean the aircraft on your hands and knees because you can't stand up in most corporate airplanes. Then go eat, sit around all day and do nothing and then do it all over again to go home. Geez, where do I sign up?
I am sure you will tell me how corporate guys make more money, etc. I would rather make less money than be viewed like I was during that month. Those people have more respect for their pets than they do their pilots. At least once a month we get a nice passenger that says Thanks. But only once!

Enjoy your .85 per seat and be proud you are paid more than a legacy carrier. Carry on
