Default Could I get hired?

Hey,
I'm currently right out of usaf pilot training with a little over 300 hrs TT and 100 multi turbine. Was wondering if this would be able to get me an interview at a regional? With all of the hiring of 200-250 hour pilots I was wondering if I would be competitive. Just looking at all my options. Appreciate the info.

Why do u want to leave the Air Force? The guys who get hired with 250 hours went and got some sort of CRJ/ERJ training at an aviation academy. With your training I am sure it would be different.

I assume you completed the military training and are now flying in the ANG/AFR? If so you would be competetive at any regional hiring low-timers. Unfortunately those are mostly bad places to work, so you would probably want to do some CFI work to get your time up for a better company.

If you did not complete military training, but do have a civilian commercial license you can still get hired, but will have to explain what happened in the military...but don't worry, they'll still hire you unless you had a substance abuse problem.

oh no worries..i completed UPT..i'm not going to be able to fly as much as I would like so I'm looking at my options and since I'm obviously short on hours for major, regionals are a place to start. I know the working conditions suck..just trying to get some feelers.

I'm not leaving the air force..i'm trying to supplement the guard job. I know my training was different than going the CFI/ flightschool route, but want to see if even with my low time I could still get picked up somewhere.

You can probably get on with any of the following carriers, and might have a shot at others:

Piedmont
Mesa (et al)
Big Sky
Cape Air

PDT just had a new hire finish training... 250hrs total, no turbine, 20 hrs of ME.
