HYA as Colgan Base

So age/ seniority out of training means nothing at all? I'm 36 and thought that might increase my chance of getting something tolerable. I get that they put you where the company needs you but whats with the smoke and mirrors about picking bases and seniority out of training getting first pic? It's all Bull****? Thats bogus. And I can tough it out, believe me, that much I can do. Just like to be around to see my little girl (3) sooner than later. If I were single and younger I couldn't give acrap where I went.

No negative comment here just some advice...............if you dont get the base you want initially dont rely on the Monthly Bid, that seemed to never have worked for anybody, my advice is to call Mike Colgan about it.............

It's not completely BS though. Say you at least want something in the Northeast out of training, but you don't bid, and say they have an opening in Tyler and one in Rochester, a guy younger than you in training will obviously get Rochester if he bid for it and you could end up in Tyler. So bid, even though your chances of getting what you want are slim

Several Colgan pilots said the same thing to me after the interview. If you dont get the base you want , contact Mike Colgan and he'll do what he can at least. And like cub said, at least by bidding in order to get a base is better than just letting them put you anywhere like spooner said. I am not one to just sit and play dead until someone says " hey, would you like PVD?"

Same person or two different people? The weather up here in BOS is quite crappy today, hence my extended time on the forum's. I'm finishing up this week at my flight school and taking next week off before training starts. I feel bad leaving some of my students. I feel like am abandoning them. Anyone else feel the same way when you left instructing?
