true. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that there hasn't been terror used by all races in some form or another, but we were talking about airplanes, and when it comes to that its a well known fact that fanatics from the middle east have used terror in the form of aviation many times in the past and have been fairly successful and probably (sadly) will use this kind of weapon again. i'm sure El Al has a reason for using those flares or chaff that they have on their planes.

To be entirely fair here, there have been blacks that have hijacked airplanes. I can think of one case in Africa right off the top of my head. Oh, and of course the guy that hijacked the FedEx flight. He was black. Also, didn't a white guy try to blow a plane up with a shoe bomb shortly after 9/11? There have been a lot of hijackings by Hispanics all over the world too... So if there is -any- kind of trend here its the fact that -all- types of people are capable of evil and malicious acts of terror.

And on that note, after being to the Middle East a couple of times the hair on the back of my neck stands straight up when I hear Middle Eastern men speaking in Arabic. Other than that I'm completely comfortable around them. The only people that I am seriously wary of are people of any color that act nervous, aggressive, or display almost any kind of suspicious behavior.

I get what you mean as well.. What im saying is dont be just lery of the middle eastern guy be lery of everyone, be vigilent. Unfortuantly terrorism doesent always come with a turban and a middle eastern face all the time. Im black and born muslim and most people would never know i was one. I talk and dress just like a you. Being able to blend into society is a hugh tactic in battle, my friend. Let us hope and pray that 9/11/01 will never happen again.

When they board?????
If you're flying in Africa and a black man wanted on it wouldn't be an issue it isn't out of place. If an arab wants to get on your plane, while obviously completely ok, it is slightly out of place. It's racial profiling while it might not be politically correct it has pulled through time and time again. I seem to remember them finding two plastic bags of plutonium(or something similar) strapped to the chest of an arab not too long ago. Stereotypes exist for a reason. I flew to Kenya and on the way out I was pulled aside and told to my face that I didn't look like I belonged. They searched me and went through my things and asked some questions then let me on my way. I could care less. Actually I was glad to hear everyone is doing it.

When a race of people has openly admitted to wanting the US to fall it's only natural to watch them more closely.

However America is A melting pot what is out of the norm these days

latinos wheter they be legal or not have begun to take over as the majority in this country. In Kenya where its not as much a melting pot as in are country yes race stands out more predomitily.

Please dont take this as im trying to change your beliefs but I just want to open the other possibilities of other.

With 9/11 only 6 years behind us i understand your feelings on the issues, im just hoping they dont blind you from something some day

Kick the Tires and light the fire

The Arabic people as a race have not openly admitted to wanting the United States to fall. The Muslim people as a religion have not said they want the United States to fall. It is a small group of Muslim extremists that will stop at nothing for the chance to kill Americans. I know many Arabic people that absolutely love this country, and I met a few that love it so much that they volunteered to do their part and help our military by becoming translators during the war.

Yes you are correct that people of all races have hijacked planes and all types of people are capable of these evil things. but in all honesty these are more or less isolated incidents. we do however know for a fact that fanatics from the mid east are out to use airplanes against us. i also remember reading about how somewhere around 95% of all the terror acts in the world are cause by people of middle eastern descent. p.s. the shoe bomber that i think you're talking about is richard reid. and i think although he was from britain, he was half arab or something like that.

I miss the "fart-valve" on the DHC-8. It has a mechanically controlled outflow valve on the forward pressure vessel (behind the instrument panel) that can be modulated open with a lever on the overhead panel. Opening it more or less flushes the cockpit air. There seems to be no way to do this on the CRJ.

I completely understand what you're saying here, and I'm curious if 95% is completely accurate.

My only problem is the severe fallout that has occurred in this country because of these extremists. My blood boils every time I hear someone use a racial slur derogatory of Arabs directed at an Indian. I always want to just smack these ignorant @$$es and tell them to go jump off a cliff.
