as long as the weather isnt bad its not any more scary than your usual first day on the 121 job. My first day of IOE was ric-ord, ord-oma, oma-ord, ord-mke, mke-ord, ord-sbn. I went from crashes and dashes at an uncontrlled airport one day to ORD three months later. It was a little never racking but I wouldnt say it was scary, my checkairman was like "just do exactly what I say when I say to do it. and if your confused about a taxi clearance, just say your call sign and I'll take of it"

Alpha goes this way, Bravo goes this way, ORD sucks!

I see Mesa is offering a $5,000 hiring bonus to those with UA Express experience, what is the big deal with UA experience?

Answer:
Mesa is mad that all there FO's are going to Skywest and Republic. So Mesa is trying to lure anyone from those companys to try and get back at Skywest and Republic for taking all the FO's from Mesa. What Mesa does not tell you is the the $5,000 is paid out over time. (i think over 3 years)

Yes Staffing is that bad and getting worse 80-100+ hours of IOE and growing this is becoming the norm.

I'm guessing they're not getting any takers...both RAH and SKW pay well enough that you'd take significantly more than a $5K pay cut to go to mesa...and that's EACH year, not spread out over three...not to mention all the mesa BS and 8 days off.

Mesa's a bad deal all around, bonus or no bonus. In fact I might even pay to not have to fly for Mesa.

I hate mesa, paroled in early 06', when you guys are ready to march on the crystal palace I'll be there. I now work for XJET but will gladly fly in on my days off to give a number ONE to J.O. any day.

Just curious. I saw that Mesa is looking for captains now. Direct to the left seat. How does this sit with ALPA? Are they that hard up for personnel that no one has the mins for the left seat? This seems to be a first for an ALPA seniority carrier.

theyve been doing street captain hiring for a while in the Dash 8. I dont think anything in their contract prohibits it, because it doesnt violate seniority (an FO who was at the company before who eventually upgrades would be senior to that captain).

but like was said earlier, fix it or burn it down

Default Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

I defy ANYONE to show that JO has paid ANYBODY that $5,000 bonus. Even if someone was stupid enough to move down to Mesa, I can assure you JO will have a trick up his sleeve to not pay that bonus out.

There is no way people are moving to Mesa for the $5000. If they do, then they are moving down, not up. You can not make a lateral move when going to Mesa.

What the hell is wrong with theses pilots the reason they treat you guys like trash is because they can and they will as long as they have dummies showing up to work each and everyday. Yes i said it dummies 5 years to make 34 bucks 1.28 per deim, block time. You guys are going to china to make a little more than the factory workers that put together walmart products. I hope they painted the airplanes with LEAD PAINT.
