Comair or ASA Q's
#13
I am in training at Comair right now and put in a bid to return to CVG. My transfer date is 12/1/07... so I'll probably not even have to go to JFK. Seems like everyone who wants CVG out of training is getting it. Training at Comair is top notch so far too.

Reserve in JFK seems to be getting longer, I am on month three and still cant hold long call (which means I am in the bottom 60%) and I will go down November 1st when MCO arrives and TONS of people BELOW me leave for CVG...hopefuly they are still pumping out new hires or this is going to suck

Okay so the rumor is true about not flying on reserve, but these are slow months... I flew like 8 hours in august, and am up to like 13 now for Sept.... I did have two 20 days gaps between flying, and barely have 60 hours in the plane....things should pick up in October I noticed a lot of people with like full four day trips on their lines (not me of course...stupid late window) Saxman you are lucky...im like 1575 or something in senority...somewhere around there.... November look like 12-15 FO's from MCO above me and about 20 BELOW me leaving...so that is just blah....haha..... Oh well hopefully things will pick up when I Call planning and complain that with my window next month there is no way I will make it to 100 hours in 120 days.... clock is tickin'.......I really have no idea what to expect with all the transfers.....we will see!!!

I was hired in 1/07 and I'm transferring back to CVG in November. As of this month the lines are only about 5 away from my seniority... so I would assume for Nov. I'll either be a junior line holder due to A LOT of 50 seat guys transferring to the 70 or at the top end of the reserve list. So its looking from hire date to line for me was 11ish months...

I was hired at Comair in December 2006. A buddy of mine was hired at ASA a few months after that and from talking to him it seems like the attrition at ASA is a little more aggressive than Comair for the time being. Both of us have about 400 seniority numbers until the most junior upgrade. Right now I have 250 pilots junior to me and if the hiring continues as projected there should be another 250 by next summer.

Thanks for your input guys. My desire is to fly for either Comair or ASA. Anyone out there commuting to ATL, CVG, or JFK from SE Florida? How is it? Currently, I'm living in West Palm Beach.
