Exactly the kind of attitude of why the union vote will fail and ALPA WILL NOT get their fingers into the Skywest Pilots. Thank you
And if I fly along side you in the future, I will ask if you voted ALPA, and if you say "no," it will be one quiet cockpit. But for your sake I hope the question comes up in your interview and your dismissed before you can cause any trouble. but hey, jetblue, skybus, and virgin would be great places for you. good luck[/quote]

35% of SkyWest guys don’t want it; I don’t think it’s an anti-union thing, just more not too sure about ALPA. Until that 35% changes to 51% I think a lot of people just need to press menu, select adult desires, and press order. WTF…. $10.99?? can ALPA get me a cheaper rate?

Not to stray off the ALPA issue, but I was flying with this one captain and he said when he was on the bro the overnight in Imperial CA had free porn. It was scrabbled but if you click the channels back and forth really quick it was clear up.
Sorry, I had to break this intense thread up with a good old fashioned hotel porn story. Back to the issue at hand.

You need to invest in a universal remote. Unplug a wire here, program the remote there, plug wire back in and congrats...free porn (without the scrabbles).
We would all be better off if ALPA made it into SKW but I don't see it happening because not a lot of pilots at SKW see the benefit of ALPA yet. They've only been hanging around there when times were good. Wait until times are tough...then you'll be beggin' for it.

Tony,
You might be the right guy to intelligently comment on why so many of our current SKW pilots from other ALPA carriers are against ALPA, and why so many current ALPA carriers are actively trying to rid themselves of ALPA (American Eagle, US Air, etc.), why votes for ALPA have failed in the past 8 years (SkyWest in 1999, Colgan 2007, etc).
And why some of the largest airlines in the world are not ALPA (SWA, American, UPS, et al).

We ALL know that virtually no management team wants to deal with a union (Herb at Southwest being one of the rare exceptions). This SkyWest management team is no exception.
I kind of wish they'd stay out of the issue completely, and just let the pilots decide on their own. However, there is not an organized "No ALPA" committee, so I appreciate that the company is clarifying the voting process (assuming they are correct).
I certainly have not seen this type of information from the ALPA Organizing Committee, nor would I expect to.

The reality is that if this ALPA "supporter" will actually spew this kind of hate, imagine how many others are thinking it, but not saying it.
Another great sales pitch for ALPA !!!
