I have never heard that and if its true so I'm very sorry for making any crazy accusations. I have had illness in my family adn I have lost a sibling so I know that life sometimes deals you a crap hand and "big guys upstairs" (insert three letter word for deity here) works in mysterious ways. I can sympathize with anyone else in the same situation.

All i am saying is, talk the talk, walk the walk! A lot of the mood over here is "God Bless" this, "thank you for your hard work" this "your doing a really good job" this blah blah blah, and then when it comes time to negotiate a new contract, get a raise on the 170, use electronic trip trade, get a PDO, or talk about the grey ares in our CBA the door slams right in our face!

The company wants to act all big and bad like they treat their people well, but the pilots and flight attendants here still get shafted. It could be worse at other places and for the most part here everyone gets along but this company caters to its "children of the corn" up in Indianapolis. Case in point. Eveyone up at HQ in Indianoplace gets a paid vacation day for the day AFTER thanksgiving. and then when the flight crews and mechanics asked for it to be a paid holiday, they pretty much told us to "f" off! dubya tee eff! over!

Mentally, he's been at CHQ ever since we started training at TSA.

The jading process begins when you try to arrange travel between training events. They start us early. Out of sight, out of mind seems to be the treatment. The place has its issues, but its probably the best bet of any regional to grow and change right now.

yeah yeah, will agree with that, its got some issues but all in all its a good company to work for. There are a lot of things that anger me and my main beef lately has been my schedule, its too long of a story but anyways its very bizzare, inefficient, and just bass ackwards. But all in all i am happy here, but i do feel that there is a lot of room for improvement in labor relations, especially when one of our little "circle of stars" motto is "create a culture of fun and learning", getting bypassed, sitting on the ground for 3 hours twice a day in CVG, getting fired (saab guys in 01), getting harrassing calls from scheduling at midnight before a 3 AM reserve time, so on and so on, does not sound like fun and learning to me. College was fun and learning!

To answer your question hercdriver I have been at chautauqua a little over 7 months now and I was at at TSA for a about 7 months as well. I dont have a lot of "experience" in the airline industry, but I have done a lot of homework, and research about the "industry" since spring of 03 after i got my Instrument rating and decided to become a "career pilot" SO yes I am in young in the industry but if you look at most of my posts I am usually pretty humble in my opionion and I dont talk a lot of smack, most of what i say is just some sarcastic quip, the only time i really "b*** & moan" is when I have had a bad day, and I dont have too many of those, but if i can channel some frustration through an internet forum with much more "b****ing and moaning" than i do, its better than taking it out on my friends and family!

I know am young and I wasnt around for 9/11, never been furloughed or taken a pay cut, but I have expererienced a lot in my short 24 years and I know the value of hard work and the basic difference between right and wrong, and I came here (RAH) in search of a company that stood out among the regionals in their management/labor relations, you'll desire that after TSA. and yes things are good here, but I feel i expected a little more, i havent been shafted personally but I know of others that have, especially the saab guys back in 01. But i think the company has done, is doing, and will continue to do some pretty shady moves in order to keep the stock price high and all the share holders happy.
I know thats the way of the industry and maybe i am just disappointed in this big business capitalist economy country and the direction it is headed in.

I wouldnt say i'm jaded, i love my job and i enjoy going to work. I just want to work less!
