Comair/DCA flight school deal

Think about this (hypothetical situation), you do this and you are at Comair building your hours, DCA now has this same agreement but now with Delta. You are screwed, you are upset because someone else is cutting in line.
Is this really happening, I understand the extra pay is happening, but are people really getting a seniority number?

It's obviously bad because they are giving you a seniority number instead of raising pay. It costs them nothing to give you a seniority number. Pretty simple, if they need more pilots, raise pay. Union should definitely not be letting this happen.

Better for you, if you're at DCA. Not better for the guys you cut in front of who are off the street.
There is no need for DCA to reinvent the wheel here as a marketing ploy.

It may be good for YOU, but its bad for the group. Instead of paying pilots professional wages when they find it hard to lure any more suckers in (myself included), they lower the entrance bar to prey upon those who don't know any better. When I was a 400 hour CFI, I would've been ecstatic to have a guranteed chance to sit in the front seat of a jet and log time. I probably would've done it for free. After you work in the business for a while, you learn that your skills are valuable and should not be given away. Sure, this may give the individual a leg up right now, but they are just selling short the value of their skills. How would you feel if you did your DCA stint but then I walked in with 2000 hours to COMAIR and was offered "advanced standing" because of my expereince? I'm sure you'd be ****ed for violating seniority. Seniority accrues from the day you start doing the JOB, not some random other date. We might as well start merit based upgrades next.

You have to think about why comair would like to do this? What is comair getting or not having to give up so they can dangle a seniority carrot in front of you. Think about that then get back to me. Hint, refer to above paragraph.
