Default Compass 401(k) and ALPA question?

I have a couple questions regarding Compass 401(k) and probation.

Is there a waiting period before one can join the 401(k) plan?

For new hires is there a year waiting period before you can join ALPA and receive union benefits whatever they might be.

1.) You can join the 401K plan during the enrollment process, which should make you eligible in the month or two after you start (there's even some matching) yay.

2.) I'm assuming you're hired as an F/O. All pilots are ALPA from Day #1. However, if an F/O - you're on probation for 1 year. Not sure what ALPA 'benefits' you're interested in, but they offer a variety of products available for purchase in addition to those deducted from your paycheck by the company - usually in the form of various insurance policies. If you are simply referring to representation, day #1 it is.

I was basically referring to representation, as I understand at most carriers you have to wait until you probationary period is over.

Hold on. Let me stop laughing. I just shot Cheerios halfway across the kitchen. How about you ask some of the other guys how well that representation has been 'PAYING' off for us.

Not busting your chops, but seriously - it's a question that I'm not sure I can even answer.

Look, I am in not a fan of ALPA. ALPA is getting everything they deserve. I'm just asking the question. Not making a statement on ALPA.

I understand. Like I said, don't think for a second that I was giving you a hard time. Tensions are just running high in the initial batch of pilots, and it's hard to see CA dues come out of your paycheck without results or CA pay. I'm sure things will get ironed out eventually, but it feels like an eternity when you have bills to pay. Now that I understand your question, yes you'll have to wait until your probationary period is over. On a positive note - that should fly by with you sitting at home at this rate. Best of luck to ya.
