Scenic Airlines

Does anybody have any information about Scenic Airlines in the Las Vegas area? It says they have no hiring minimums other than Comm/multi/inst, but I can't seem to get a response from them. Are they currently hiring? Is there some unwritten "preferred minimums?" Any info is appreciated.

I applied a while back and haven't heard anything either. Be sure to post when you find something out.

I interviewed about a month ago. Minimums are Commercial Multi, flight time is irrelevant.

They are still hiring and holding one class a month. Most guys are spending a month or two in the pool.

Did you get the job? Is there a phone number to call or some way to follow up other than filling in the application? I would really like to work for them

Scenic is doing some restructuring...(namely merging with Grand Canyon Airlines/Pappillion). It wouldn't supprise me if they are just a bit busy...keep bugging them.

No, I was not hired. Fill out the online application. If you get the interview invite, read the gouge and do the simulator prep with Bob.

Hiring has slowed some, but do to attrition I would expect it to continue into the forseable future. I've moved up 9 seniority spots since being hired two months ago. Just fill out the online application. Mins are comm/multi. Any questions feel free to ask.

How are you liking it there? What is the schedule like? When do you think the hiring will pick back up? How is flying the twin otter?

So far so good, great pilot group and great training. As for the schedule we bid for days off based on seniority. The majority of pilots have 2 consecutive days off and some have 3 per week. Hiring should remain constant with a class every other month or so for attrition. We are entering our slow season but it will start to get busy again around May. In September we had an FO log 165 hours of flight time. The otter is like a giant 172 with turbines. Pretty easy to fly except due to the massive tail, even a slight crosswind requires a lot of correction. Other than that just be patient, I'm sure you will hear something from pilot recruitment eventually.

The otter in a crosswind will make a great crosswind landing pilot out of you. How times have changed with mins at Scenic. Are you still smiling for the camera? Do you know a CAPT. named A Brown?
