At most places, that situation is called a "re-assignment." A lot of people use the terms inter-changeably, though.

You can also use "extension" in there as well. But all of these mean different things contractually at most places. In the end, all of make you fly something other than what you might have been expecting.

Fair enough. We don't have "reassignments" in that meaning so I'm not familiar with the difference between that and junior manning. A "reassignment" for us has to be in the middle of a trip and can't go beyond 2 hours of our original duty out. I just figured anytime the company made you work on your day off, you were getting junior manned. Do you still get the 50% override if you get reassigned since it's your day off?

Read the article, then check out the calculator at the bottom.
It would be nice to have a section that defines terms like the OP wanted to know to help people. Just another thing to set this forum apart from the other one.

I love it when they try to extend me into a day off. I always say, "Sure! I can bring my kids, right?" Haven't worked on a day off yet...

Ah just wanted to let you know that we start at our normal time on Saturdays. It's not a half day or anything.
