Mainline in general doesnt want the 50-90 seat market because they wont pay what mainline pilots will want to fly those routes. Jeez guys the biz model of most of these large carriers is expansion at mainline with bigger and bigger airplanes and pushing off the under 100 seat market to contractors....
Keep in mind too (and I am still surprised by it) that its not the average economy class passenger than is the big revenue generator for airlines such as Delta, American, United.........its the business and first class passenger long haul. THATS what they are concentrating their efforts on today because THATS what drives $$$$$ to their bottom line. Not a CR7 going from ORD to FWA. |
Whoa... everyone envies and hates SKYWEST? Hah, ok.
This assertion feeds your ego? =P |

I've come to the conclusion that ya'll are just anti SkyWest...Period. You can feed me the BS that you really, really care about us. Well I believe that about as much as I believe the management propoganda. The difference is, management here is somewhat reliant upon our work. They have nothing to gain by ticking us off and losing flying, while ya'll are just wanting a piece of our flying-pie. Deep down in your oh-so-human hearts you know that's the truth of it. And plz tell me you write a contract when you buy or sell a house, if not I have one for sale if ya want it, I promise Ill give ya a great deal, but no contracts please. :D |

those of us that were at trans states when the whole gojets thing went down sure know what you mean about how important it is to have a contract. that sure saved us!
And next time you write a contract you might want to include a provision for alter-ego airlines. I feel your pain with tsa, but I’m sure no one thought management would stoop to that level. Live and learn. The solution is not discontinuing contracts, but writing better ones..... |

Seriously, many of us at SkyWest don't really care what goes on at other regionals, why are you so concerned about us? |

Yeah, because as everyone knows, SkyWest sucks. People are leaving in droves, and no one's ever made a lateral move to come here. Maybe I should have gone to Mesa, the shining example of regional airline unionization.
Congrats Skywest. I am really happy for you guys. It's great to see yall standing up for what you believe in. |

I hope that United gets all of the 700 flying. That would be amazing. That would be a huge step in the right direction for the entire industry. That would be some of the first GOOD, GREAT, AMAZING news I have heard since 9/11. Why would you not want United flying CRJ-700's for mainline rates. And I like Skywest.
Remember, it is not "your" flying. It is United's flying. This industry is not what it used to be because regionals are flying mainline sized aircraft. If mainline flew mainline sized aircraft, this industry would be in a lot better shape. Please don't be selfish. It is better for everyone in the industry if United flies CRJ-700's. |
